List for Bay of Islands District

We would like to invite you to be involved in our Christmas parade on December 7th, 2013.

A great day has been planned with the emphasis being a fancy dress street party, followed by the parade at lunchtime.

We have been granted road closure from 10.00am to 1.30pm and our aim is to have activities and stalls along with some great entertainment happening in the whole town during this time.

There will be prizes for:

Best fancy dress children 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place

Best dressed Community Adult

Best dressed Business person

Best bike Decorator

Float Sections

Community Group

We would absolutely love for as many groups as possible to involve themselves either through a fundraising stall or a parade float, or both!

The theme for the year is simply “A Kawakawa Christmas” so feel free to be as innovative as you like with dressing up for your stall or designing your parade float.  It is free to enter a float for the parade and a brand new 'uniquely Kawakawa' trophy is to be up for grabs for the winners.  This will be yours to hold for the year until Christmas 2014 where it will be up for winning again. The winners names will be engraved or the year and will be there or years to come.

The fee to hold a fundraising stall this year for community groups is $25.  This money will be used to help with the overall running costs for the day.

If you would like to register a float or hold a stall or like further information please contact either Julie Perry  Centre Point Motel.  Phone; (09) 4041175. Email:

We  look forward to hearing from you!
